I received some lovely Lilly Pulitzer for Christmas this year and my two favorite pieces are classroom friendly! I love my I pad case and my coffee cup brings some brightness to my morning. You can find them both on lilly site here.
I am always looking for cute, practical clothes to wear to school so I can feel confident while I teach! I created a pinterest board here will all my cute finds, clothes I'm lusting after, and some fashion inspiration! Feel free to look at my board for cute ideas and follow me on pinterest :) I have a few favorite simple pieces of jewlery that I love to pair with almost every outfit I wear to school. Having something fun and shiny on all day helps brighten my day and a happy teacher is a good teacher! Here are some of my favorite (afordable!) pieces to wear to school. These adorable starfish earrings are fun and still appropriate for a high school teacher! I love wearing my starfish earrings at the beginning and end of the school year. They help me hold on to summer a little longer, and get ready for vacation at the end of the year. At $17.99 they are a great deal and can spice up any cute spring outfit. I love this simple gold and silver necklace from stella and dot. Its simple, but different! I'm always asked where it's from when I wear it to school or out! Its affordable at $59 and helps to pull together any look. Stella and Dot has so many other cute finds so explore the site! It's all pretty affordable. This simple Cape Cod bracelet is something I never take off. Its simple and durable and great for everyday wear. It's one of my signature pieces that goes with literally every outfit! Its easy to get on and off, and the fact that it's silver and gold allows it to be paired with many different jewelry pieces. Also, it doesn't clunk around like other bulkier bracelets that I have. They are forever hitting my chalk board, desk, and keyboard while I'm teaching! This bracelet never gets in my way :) One of the perks of being a public servent is the ability to use a teacher discount! Many stores offer these but don't really advertise it. Here is a list of my favorite places to whip out my ID badge and use it to save some cash! 1. Ann Taylor Loft I love shopping here. Besides the teacher discount, they often have amazing sales and promotions. I highly suggest signing up for their mailing list on the bottom right of their page here. While you're signing up for the mailing list, sign up for Loft Loves Teachers here. You get a 15% discount on all full price items, and sometimes during the year they up it to 20%. You can't go wrong with signing up! Another store I love to stalk for super deals is Banana Republic. No only do they have amazing sales throughout the year, but they give a pretty good discount to us teachers! Here is the information on their discount. Basically, you get 15% off any full price item. Another fun fact about BR savings? If you have a Banana outlet or factory store near you and a AAA Card, you can get a discount on any purchase. I also highly suggest signing up for their email list, as well as getting a Banana Republic Credit card. With the card, depending on how much you spend, you receive free money to spend at BR, Old Navy, or GAP every so often. I just received $20 to spend. And there is no minimum purchase to use these rewards. My favorite place to flaunt my teacher ID is J.Crew. LOVE their clothes, but I don't love their prices.... My dilemma was solved when I found out they give a 15% discount to all teachers on all purchases. Even my beloved sale and clearance finds! This is valid not only at the regular stores, but the outlet stores too. It's a double bonus! Here is a link to another blog that breaks down even more discounts for teachers! Take advantage of these rewards! |
